The Weeknd Becomes Artist With Most Monthly Listeners On Spotify

The Weeknd surpassed Justin Bieber on Spotify.

Even though The Weeknd’s “Dawn FM” lost to Gunna’s “DS4EVER” on the race of Billboard 200 top spot by a small margin, The Canadian artist is still outselling everyone globally. According to new data, The Weeknd is now the artist with the most monthly listeners worldwide on the music streaming platform Spotify.

The Weeknd’s monthly listeners are now reached more than 85 million, and he achieved the milestone by beating Justin Bieber. Also, The Weeknd’s 85.66 million listeners are the second-highest peak on Spotify, the first being Justin Bieber with 94.68 Million. The Weeknd has also surpassed 41 million followers on Spotify.

The Weeknd has already topped 500 million Spotify streams this year two weeks after January 1, 2022. It’s no surprise, therefore, that The Weeknd accomplished this accomplishment. Furthermore, it appears that Abel has no plans to slow down in his pursuit of success, as he recently hinted that his two most recent studio albums, After Hours and Dawn FM, are part of a trilogy of albums, similar to his 2012 Trilogy, which included his House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes Of Silence projects.

The Weeknd’s follow up album to “After Hours” debuted at #2 on Billboard 200 with 148,000 equivalent album units in the first week.
