Drake Reportedly Takes Shots At Kendrick Lamar, LeBron James, Joe Budden & J. Cole On Leaked Song “1 AM In Albany.”

Drake fans are counting down the hours until ICEMAN finally drops on May 15, but a leaked song may have already revealed some of the album’s biggest moments.

A new track called “1 AM In Albany” leaked online ahead of the album release, and listeners quickly noticed Drake seemingly taking shots at multiple famous names, including Kendrick Lamar, LeBron James, J. Cole, and even Joe Budden.

The five-minute track follows Drake’s classic “timestamp” song style and features several direct-sounding bars aimed at people connected to last year’s rap drama.

Throughout the song, Drake appears to respond to Kendrick Lamar multiple times. In one line, he references Kendrick’s height while also talking about being the top rapper in the game.

“To be the number one, you gotta lead the way, and to hold something over my head forever, you’re still a couple feet away.” “Plot twist, the owl never sees the cage, the owl only wakes up to seize the day.”

“Talkin’ bout hiding the Bible, maybe y’all should read a page, iced out crosses on they necks thinking Jesus saves, well even if he does, ni–a, either way, the blasphemy you talk let me know that your amazing grace gon’ be delayed.” “You ni–as should be ashamed, the fact you had to bring those talks to get some decent plays, goodness graic.’”

“God wanna wipe that lil smug look right off ya f–king face, all you really did was cap like uppercase, dodged the truth, but still managed to finally get a hit that let you run a base, ni–as saw you out at first, you need ’em, so you out at home now, just like a double play.”

Later in the outro, Drake even flips Kendrick’s viral “What is it, the braids?” line from their beef by rapping, “What is it, the braids? Even if I cut them, I could never fade.”

Fans online immediately reacted to the line, with many calling it one of the biggest moments on the leaked track.

Drake also seemed to take aim at LeBron James, who publicly supported Kendrick Lamar during the rap battle in 2024. On the song, Drake compares LeBron switching sides to changing basketball teams throughout his career.

“I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up,” Drake raps for LeBron. “Please stop asking what’s going on with 23 & me, I’m a real ni–a, and he’s not, it’s in my DNA.”

The Toronto rapper didn’t stop there either. Many listeners believe he also sent shots at J. Cole by mentioning a “married rapper” who stepped away from the battle instead of staying involved.

“I could’ve fell back like the married rapper, but we engage. I told y’all I’m settled in my evil ways. These ni–as thinking that the spot is up for grabs? they’ll never see the day.”

Joe Budden also appears to catch some bars on the track, with Drizzy referencing Budden’s past viral controversy involving his apartment hallway incident.

“I watched this guy spasm with a puzzled face. Who knows which one of his bubble shaped tings I must’ve ushered through the double gates. Showed her the time of her life while broski having stomach aches, hearing ’bout good times at lovers lake and send her back to you while you sleepwalking naked in another state.”

“Ah, you’ll live to see another day, and even if you don’t, it’s just another day. We ain’t crying for your punk a-s anyway.”

Another major topic on the song is Drake addressing people who distanced themselves from him during the Kendrick Lamar beef and are now trying to reconnect with him again. Drake makes it clear on the track that he is not interested in rebuilding certain relationships.

“Just came from hearing a lot of ni–as cop a lot of pleas. Like, ‘Oh, brother. You know, we, you know, we brothers, it’s never been nothing.’”

“Sending me that owl emoji in my DM ain’t gonna mean nothing. Don’t try coming around when it scores back to 10 nothing. I don’t wanna hear none of that sh-t.”

At the moment, it is still unknown if “1 AM In Albany” will officially appear on ICEMAN or if it was simply an unreleased leak. Drake has still not shared the album cover, tracklist, or official singles, which has only increased excitement around the project.

With ICEMAN arriving in less than two days, fans are now waiting to see how many more surprises Drake has planned once the full album finally drops.
