Drake's Certified Lover Boy Creates Spotify & Apple Music History

Drake broke his own streaming records with “Certified Lover Boy”.

Drake dropped his highly anticipated new album “Certified Lover Boy” yesterday and now it’s already breaking all streaming records. According to Chart Data, Drake’s new album has broken the all-time record for the biggest single-day streams for an album in Spotify history. Not only on Spotify, but CLB has also broken the all-time record for the biggest single-day streams for an album in Apple Music history.

He surpassed own record he created with 2018’s project “Scorpion” on both music streaming platforms. The album is now expected to earn the biggest Billboard 200 debut of 2021, surpassing Kanye West’s “DONDA” numbers which moved 327k units in the first week.

CLB’s “Girls Want Girls (feat. Lil Baby),” “Champagne Poetry,” and “Fair Trade” featuring Travis Scott are the three most popular song debuts on Apple Music, surpassing Drake’s “Nonstop.” CLB also charted at No. 1 in 145 countries on Apple Music’s Top Albums charts on its first day of release. In addition, CLB tracks topped 51 Daily Top 100 charts, sweeping the top 21 slots in 18 countries at the time of release in the first week.

Drake also celebrated the milestone with a huge Billboard that says, “Certified Record Breaker. On 9/3/21 CLB became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day. Congrats, Drake.
