Drake Leaks A Song Where Kanye West is Dissing Him

Kanye West & Andre 3000’s “Life of the Party” played by Drake on Sound 42.

Drake’s new album “Certified Lover Boy” is out now and the Toronto rap star hosted mixed a playlist for Sound 42 Radio on SiriusXM. Drake made the announcement earlier tonight, and the mix featured some of the new records from his latest project. But the listeners get an unexpected surprise when an unreleased Kanye West & Andre 3000’s song called “Life of the Party” starts playing.

The song has a guest verse from OutKast’s Andre 3000 as well as a soundbite from a video of DMX and his daughter on a slingshot ride. It was supposedly recorded for West’s newly released 10th studio album, ‘DONDA,’ and was previewed earlier this week during an interview with Bild.

West has taken jabs at Drake in the weeks leading up to the release of Donda, including exposing his home address on Instagram. In the middle of a rivalry with West, Drake leaked “Life of the Party” on his Sirius XM radio program on September 4, a day after his album Certified Lover Boy was released. Drake’s leaked version appeared to include a different verse from West, with disses directed at Drake and a guest verse from André 3000.

In the leaked song, Kanye West is throwing shade at Drizzy in several lines. “I put Virgil and Drake on the same text, and it wasn’t about the matching arcteryx or Kid Cudi dress. Just told these grown men stop it with the funny sh*t, I might hire the whole team from ACG,” Kanye Raps.

Towards the end of his verse, he issues a warning to Drake while also mentioning his infamous MAGA hat: “Told Drake don’t play with me on GD/ And he sent that message to everybody/ So if I hit you with a ‘WYD’/ You better hit me with, ‘Yes sir, I’m writing everything you need’/ I told you I was gonna take the summer back/ So any of the cap, won’t take none of that/ Where my muthaf**kin’ red hat?”

Drizzy also posted a picture of himself on Instagram next to a car with the caption “Waste disposal” around the time of the leak. The latter portion of his radio takeover saw the debut of two brand-new songs, including a remix of Playboi Carti’s “One Day” and a collaboration with Rema titled “Mention Me.”

‘Life Of The Party’ also features the ever-elusive Andre 3000, who asks West’s late mother, Ms. Donda West – after whom Kanye’s new album is called – to relay his messages of love to his own mother, Sharon Benjamin Hodo, who died in 2013. “Miss Donda, if you see my mama, tell her I’m lost/ You see, she’d always light a cigarette, we talk, I would cough/ Exaggeratin’ a little bit so she get the point/ Tryna get her to stop smokin’, I would leave and fire up a joint/ Till I quit, started back up again, 20 years later,” he raps.

On October 27, 2021, a new version of the music was uploaded on the Donda Stem Player, with West’s original verse and a censored verse by André 3000. The song was released alongside two previously unheard tracks, “Never Abandon Your Family” and “Up from the Ashes,” as well as the original version of “Remote Control,” which has a verse by Kid Cudi. On November 14, 2021, the song was published as part of Donda’s deluxe edition and as a solo for the explicit edition.

Kanye also seems to be having issues with Cudi, since he mentioned him in his tweet… and advised that Drake and Kid Cudi wear identical gowns. Surprisingly, Cudi, like Jay-Z and other rappers, is featured on both of these albums.

Kanye covers a lot more ground in his half of the song, including avoiding over-se*ualization of his children (an issue he’s already addressed with North) and even making a “red hat” reference at the end. This onion has an infinite number of layers.

After the song, the mix played the track called “7 am On Bridle Path” and “No Friend In The Industry” where Drake is taking shots at Ye.

Both the rappers are going at each other for some time now after reignited the feud with his Trippie Redd Collaboration. Kanye West was also supposed to drop his new album “DONDA” on the same day as Drake’s “CLB”, but it was dropped earlier by Universal, without his permission.

After a five-day tracking period, Donda debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, with 309,000 album-equivalent units, including 272,000 streaming-equivalent album units, 37,000 pure album sales, and less than 1,000 track-equivalent units. The album-equivalent units set a new high for 2021, surpassing Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour, which had sold 295,000 units. With the album, West became one of just seven musicians to earn ten number-one albums on the Billboard 200 chart. It was also West’s tenth straight number one album, tying him with Eminem’s record.

UPDATE: Following Drake’s leak of Kanye West’s “Life of the Party,” Andre 3000 issued the following statement regarding his role on what became a diss track: “A few weeks ago Kanye reached out about me being a part of the Donda album. I was inspired by his idea to make a musical tribute to his mom. It felt appropriate to me to support the Donda concept by referencing my own mother, who passed away in 2013. We both share that loss. I thought it was a beautiful choice to make a clean album but, unfortunately, I didn’t know that was the plan before I wrote and recorded my verse. It was clear to me that an edited ‘clean’ format of the verse would not work without having the raw, original also available. So, sadly, I had to be omitted from the original album release.”
