Drake Takes Shots At Kanye West on New Album Certified Lover Boy

Drake shades Kanye West on the new album “CLB”.

Drake has finally dropped his long-awaited “Certified Lover Boy” album and as expected, there are some shots at Kanye West. Drake and Kanye have been going back and forth for the past few weeks after Drizzy reignited the feud with Trippie Redd’s collaboration “Betrayed”. On Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal,” Drake took a shot at West on August 20. West retaliated by posting a group text chat in which he rails about incoming “nerd ass jocks”—he included Pusha T in the conversation, and many believed the moniker D in the line was Drake himself. Drake appeared to retaliate by sharing a video of himself smiling in his car the next night.  After that Kanye leaked Drizzy’s address on his social media, before immediately deleting it. Now on the new song called “7 am On Bridle Path“, Drake mentions the same incident with some more words for Ye.

Told you I’m aimin’ straight for the head, not aiming to please
I could give a f**k about who designing your sneakers and tees
Have somebody put you on a Gildan, you play with my seed
Trust me, there’s some shit you really gotta come see to believe
That’s why your people not believers, they all leavin’ ya’
That’s why you buyin’ into the hype that the press feedin’ ya’
You know the fourth level of jealousy is called “Media”
Isn’t than an ironic revelation?
Give that address to your driver, make it your destination
‘Stead of just a post out of desperation
This me reachin’ the deepest state of my meditation
Why you over there tryna impress the nation?” he raps.

Fans believe that Drake seemingly responds to Kanye in the following lines. During the latest interview with TMZ, Kanye’s manager Bu revealed that they’re waiting if Drake’s album includes shots at Ye, then the feud continues to reignite.

Drake’s verse on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal” looked to be a dig at Kanye, causing Kanye to send a group text threatening vengeance.: “I live for this. I’ve been fu**ed with by nerd a*s jock ni**as like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.” Kanye’s manager, Bu Thiam, told TMZ that Ye would be paying careful attention to CLB and would be prepared to reply if he thought Drake was going after him.

After ‘Ye leaked Drake’s phone number in the lead-up to the release of Donda last week, many believe the lyrical retaliation came on “Bridle” in one of Drizzy’s characteristic linguistically subtle cracks. Though Drake does not specifically mention Kanye, the allusion to delivering the location to “your driver” rather than creating a post out of “desperation” has been generally taken as a reference to the A-list bro code breach.
