DaBaby Jokes About Switching To R&B Genre After Being Canceled

DaBaby jokes about “Switching from Hip-Hop To R&B” after being canceled.

Even though he’s being canceled left right and center, DaBaby is living normally and jokes about switching genres. The 29-year-old Ohio native created a huge controversy after his homophobic remarks at Rolling Loud Miami last month, which led to him being removed from several other upcoming music festivals. The rapper later issued a public apology but got even more flak after it was removed from his social media.

DaBaby took to his IG, where he shared a story in which he joked about switching to R&B Genre from Hip-Hop. In the clip, DaBaby is with his daughter as they sing Miguel’s part of J. Cole’s 2013 hit song “Power Trip.” In the caption, he wrote “They done canceled yo daddy twin, I’m switching to R&B, F**k a rap [laughing emojis]

While many fellow musicians turn their back on the Kirk, he did receive some support from 50 Cent. Recently, Fifty said that DaBaby will bounce back. “Remember they canceled Chris Brown, five, six times?” said 50. “He is a really talented, special artist, right? And he just transitioned from being in that pool that everyone’s in as a Rap artist. Like, they didn’t notify him that he’s turning into a superstar. There’s nobody that tells you, ‘Now you’re being held to these standards that are mainstream standards that you can’t say things, you can’t do these different things.’ He didn’t have a publicist involved.
