Royce Da 5'9 Speaks On A Potential Eminem vs Cassidy Rap Battle

Royce Da 5’9″ talks about a rap battle between Eminem & Cassidy.

Royce Da 5’9″ recently did an interview with Mikey T of Report Card Radio, where he talked about how the Detroit Hip Hop scene works, how he initially met Eminem at an Usher concert. Royce then goes onto explain how he and Eminem got through all the issues they were going through to come back and create the ‘Bad Vs Evil’ Album As Well As Getting Slaughterhouse signed to Shady Records. The host also asked Royce Da 5’9″ about a potential Eminem and Cassidy Rap battle.

“Royce I wanna ask you your thoughts on a potential battle between Cassidy and Eminem. Is this something that could ever happen? A lot of people say they want to see it, some people say it would never happen, some people say Eminem would never come back for it, But Eminem responded to MGK instantly,” ask Mikey T.

“Yeah, that’s a good point,” says Royce. “I’ll say this, Cassidy will have a better shot at Em responding to him with a diss record. Then we would be getting him to come to the battle rap stage and commit to three rounds on camera and give somebody ownership of his likeness and that content. But, I don’t see him doing that, I don’t see a scenario where that would even make sense, somebody of his magnitude. He would be better off just doing it on his own platform and then who would he single out to battle and what would be the purpose. But he definitely tuned in, he loves Murda Mook. I think Mook is his favorite right now, but he definitely tuned in, definitely love the battle rap scene. I’m sure he fantasizes about that sh*t. It’s a whole bunch of sh*t that he can’t do no more that he used to be able to do that he wish he could still do but he just can’t because he’s just too larger than life, can’t make it make sense.”

“Seeing what battle rap is today, does Eminem fit right back into that or does he have to take time to fit back into it, is it what he knows,” asks the host.

Royce continues, “Yeah it’s what he knows. I mean it was obviously different when he actively doing it. There’s some truth to a lot of the anecdotal things that everybody regurgitates. I guess if any pivot into any space, It’s going to require some adjustments, but you know man, the pen is the pen.”

“Eminem is definitely tuned in, he loves Murda Mook. I think Mook is his favorite right now, but he definitely tuned in, definitely love the battle rap scene. I am sure he fantasizes about that s**t. It is a whole bunch of s**t that he can not do no more that he used to be able to do that he wish he could still do but he just can not because he is just too larger than life.”

Recently, during a lengthy chat with Danny Myers about the current state of battle rap, Cassidy claimed that he is difficult to beat. Cassidy believes it’s because he’s a multitasker. Cassidy feels that the battle rap scene does not challenge him enough. Cassidy claims that the only rap battle he’d be interested in is with Eminem.
