Big Sean reveals His Top 5 Favorite Rappers on Fat Joe’s Insta Live.
Big Sean recently did a live session with Fat Joe on Instagram where he talked about his new number 1 project “Detroit 2“. Sean recently got down with Fat Joe for an interview on the MC’s Instagram page. During their lengthy conversation, the two talked about Sean’s new album Detroit 2, collaborating with Nipsey Hussle, and how Eminem is trying to get Fat Joe to come out of retirement. Fat Joe asked Sean to offer his top five list at the end of the session. Notorious B.I.G., Eminem, Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne were among the rappers who stated he could “easily” identify 10 instead of five. In the interview, Big Sean also revealed his Top 5 Favorite Rappers where he named The Notorious Big, Eminem, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Jay-Z as his definitive Top 5.
However, he kept giving more names who could feature in his list. “I could go, Rakim, I could go, Nas, I could go, Pac, I could go Snoop. I mean, so many bro,” said Sean. “I gotta put Outkast as one. There are so many ways to go. The reason I call myself Big is because of Big Pun, Biggie Smalls, Big L, you know what I mean?”
He also complimented Fat Joe, “You being one of the most inspiring MCs to me and one of my favorites because of not just the impact you’ve had but the longevity too,” he said. “You defied the odds and I think that’s a true testament of your character.”
When Sean brought up Eminem, Fat Joe revealed that the “Rap God” had recently called him and tried to persuade him not to quit. “ “I’m like, ‘Yo, this is all I ever wanted my whole life, for one of the rap gods like Eminem to call me and tell me, ‘Joe, you nice. You need to get back in there.’ I couldn’t believe it.”
Sean appears in Tee Grizzley’s new video for “Trenches,” which is taken from the latter’s mixtape The Smartest, which was released earlier this year. Tee also features on Sean’s Detroit 2 track “Friday Night Cypher.”
