John Waters Says Eminem Is Still The One Celebrity He Wants To Meet.
Legendary filmmaker and writer John Waters recently revealed that there is still one celebrity he hopes to meet someday — Eminem.
During an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast with hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, Waters opened up about his admiration for the Detroit rapper and explained why Shady remains on his personal bucket list.
“The only person left I want to meet is Eminem and he still hasn’t called me. I’ve said it for two years,” Waters said during the interview. When the hosts asked why he wanted to meet Eminem so badly, Waters gave a simple answer: “Because I like him! I’m all for him.” He even jokingly added: “Maybe he’s better than me.”
Waters also defended Eminem against criticism he has faced over the years regarding controversial lyrics and accusations of hom0phobia. “He’s not hom0phobic,” Waters explained. “He gave Elton John and David matching gold co*k rings for the wedding.”

The filmmaker pointed to Eminem’s longtime friendship with Elton John as proof that many people misunderstand the rapper’s personality and humor.
Waters also shared a funny story about how Eminem’s music became connected to him personally over the years. “I like his records,” Waters said. “I used to go to this redneck bar in Baltimore where it was all the white guys dressed like black rappers and every time I walked in they’d play ‘Puke’ by Eminem as a tribute to me.”
The filmmaker laughed while remembering how the 2004 song became almost like his personal entrance music at the bar.
Even though many fans would expect a huge public meeting between the two controversial entertainment figures, Waters explained that he would actually prefer something much more private and genuine. “Just in private, we are not exploiting it,” he said. “I want to be friends with him.” He also jokingly added: “Say ‘puke’ to me please.”
Waters finished the conversation by reflecting on his long career and the many famous people he has already met throughout his life. According to him, Em is one of the very few names still left on that list.
After clips from the podcast started spreading online, many fans reacted positively and said they would love to eventually see Marshall Mathers and John Waters finally meet in real life.
