Travis Scott Issues Statement After 8 People Died At Astroworld Fest 2021

Travis Scott & Astroworld releases a statement after 8 people died at the Festival.

Last night, Travis Scott kicked off his Astroworld 2021 Festival in Texas, but the event turned into a tragedy after at least 8 people were reported dead cause of a stampede at NRG Park. Now the second and final day of the festival has been cancelled, and Houston rapper has released a statement after the tragic incident.

“I’m absolutely devastated by what took place last night,” he wrote on his Twitter. “My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival.”

“Houston PD has my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life. I am committed to working together with the Houston community to heal and support the families in need. Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love You All.”

HFD Chief Sam Pena stated that the crowd started to compress toward the front stage of the NRG Park, which caused panic and several people got injured. At least 17 people were transported to hospitals, including 11 with cardiac arrest. Additionally, more than 300 people were treated throughout the day at an on-site field hospital.
