The Weeknd Earns His Fifth RIAA Diamond Certification With Earned It

The Weeknd earns another Diamond to his catalog.

The Weeknd continues his success on streaming platforms and on charts as the XO mogul has earned his fifth RIAA Diamond Certification. The Canadian singer has earned another Diamond for his 2014 single “Earned It”, which served as the lead single to the soundtrack to the 2015 film Fifty Shades of Grey. He earned this accolade on the occasion of his 33rd birthday.

The song was nominated for Best Original Song at the 88th Academy Awards and won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.

This follows up his previous Diamond songs “The Hills”, “Can’t Feel My Face“, “Starboy” and “Blinding Lights”. The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind The Madness” becomes the first album in history to earn three RIAA Diamond singles.

The Weeknd has released a live performance video of his song “Die For You,” featured on his album “Starboy.” The video offers a sneak peek of his upcoming HBO special, “The Weeknd: Live at So-Fi Stadium,” which is scheduled to premiere later this month. The concert special was announced by the singer and HBO as a way to compensate for a canceled show in Los Angeles during his previous tour, when he lost his voice.

The Weeknd now becomes the fourth artist to have over four Diamonds, joining Bruno Mars (6), Post Malone (5) and Drake (5).
