The Weeknd Makes RIAA History As Can't Feel My Face Goes Diamond

The Weeknd earns his fourth diamond with “can’t feel my face”.

The Weeknd continues his strong run as the XO mogul earns another RIAA Diamond Certification. The Canadian artist has now been awarded his fourth Diamond Plaque by RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), for his 2015 hit “Can’t Feel My Face” which moved 10 million units in the US.

The Toronto star previously earned the Diamond for “The Hills”, “Starboy” and “Blinding Lights”. The Weeknd now becomes the first Canadian artist to grab four RIAA Diamond singles as a lead artist. He’s now the third solo artist and fourth overall to achieve four Diamond plaques.

“Can’t Feel My Face” was released as the third single for his second studio album “Beauty Behind The Madness” in 2015. The song peaked at number one on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Hot 100. It also received nominations at Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

This month, The Weeknd assisted Metro Boomin on his new album “Heroes & Villains” and he will now be contributing to the Soundtrack of “Avatar: The Way Of Water” film. In Spotify Wrapped 2022, The Weeknd is named the fourth most-streamed artist globally.

Owing to his sixth studio album Dawn FM, the 32-year-old vocalist had a fantastic 2022. Tyler, The Creator, Lil Wayne, and actor Jim Carrey all appear on the record, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in January 2022.

The Weeknd is now the third solo artist to receive four diamond certifications, and fourth overall, thanks to this latest accomplishment. With Post Malone and Imagine Dragons, he is presently tied for second all-time in terms of the number of diamond plaques.
