Eminem Celebrates 20th Anniversary Of 8 Mile Soundtrack With A Deluxe Edition Album

Eminem drops deluxe edition for 8 Mile Soundtrack.

The soundtrack for Eminem’s classic film “8 Mile” will turn 20 on October 29, and the rapper celebrates the anniversary with a deluxe edition. “I’m still standing here screaming “f**k the Free World,” he wrote on his social media. “#8Mile 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the soundtrack drops on streaming Friday!”

The original version of the soundtrack had 16 tracks, with music from Eminem, 50 Cent, Obie Trice, D12, Jay-Z, Xzibit, Nas, Rakim, Gang Starr and more. Now the new version comes with 32 tracks, which feature instrumentals of all the original songs on the soundtrack and some demos.

The original “8 Mile: Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling over 700,000 copies in its first week. The album sold 510,000 copies in its second week and eventually became the fifth best-selling album in the US of 2002. The project also featured one of Eminem’s greatest tracks “Lose Yourself”, which earned him an Oscar for Best Original Song at the 75th Academy Awards.

50 Cent Thinks Eminem Had A Terrible Experience on “8 Mile” Movie

The Eminem starrer film was a critical and box office success. It opened at No. 1 in the US with $51.3 million grossed in its opening weekend and an eventual total of $242.9 million worldwide.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has now certified “Lose Yourself” 13 times platinum, while the 8 Mile album is presently 4 times platinum. This year, Eminem’s projects are all marking significant anniversaries, not just 8 Mile. His critically acclaimed third album, The Eminem Show, turned 20 in June as well.

Shady celebrated the event by releasing a 20th anniversary extended version that included a few hit tracks that had not yet been released, like as the Ja Rule diss track “Bump Heads” with 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo.
