Drake Creates Spotify History As Certified Lover Boy Surpassed 2 Billion Streams

Drake earns another milestone with “Certified Lover Boy”.

Drake continues his monumental run with his latest album “Certified Lover Boy” as the Toronto rapper earns one more milestone. Drizzy’s sixth studio album which dropped in September last year reportedly surpassed the 2 Billion mark on the music streaming platform Spotify. With this accolade, the Toronto rap star now has 7 projects with over 2 Billion streams, which is the most by any artist in history.

Last month, Drake earned the double-platinum status for the project which had the highest first-week sales for a rap album last year. The project which was reached platinum status in less than a month debuted at #1 with 613k first week sales. The album was best selling rap album of 2021, and third on the overall list after Morgan Wallen and Olivia Rodrigo. The album is still in the Top 10 on Billboard 200 chart, as it moved 34,000 units this week.

Recently, it was also revealed that he was the #1 most streaming artist in the US in 2021. Champagne Papi earned 8.6 billion on-demand streams and 1 out of every 131 streams was his song.

Drake’s latest studio effort was also nominated for Best Rap Album and multiple other categories on upcoming Grammy Awards, but Drake withdrew his name for unknown reasons. Drake was one of five candidates for Best Rap Album for “Certified Lover Boy,” as well as Best Rap Performance for “Way 2 Sexy” (featuring Future and Young Thug).
