Barack Obama Reveals His Favorite Songs of 2021

Barack Obama lists his favourite songs & movies of 2021.

Barack Obama, the former US President is known to be a big fan of music, and every year he lists the songs he most listened to. Earlier this year, he shared a summer playlist 2021 which features songs like Rihanna’s “Desperado“, Migos’ “Straightenin“, Silk Sonic’s “Leave The Door Open“, Jay-Z’s “Allure“, J. Cole’s “Neighbors“, SZA’s “Good Days“, Drake & Lil Baby’s “Wants and Needs” and many more hits.

Now Brack Obama decided to unveil his year-end list of favourite records of 2021, which features a taste of every genre. “I’ve always enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music, so it’s no surprise that I listened to a little bit of everything this year. I hope you find a new artist or song to add to your own playlist,” he wrote.

The list includes songs such as Nas & Ms Lauryn Hill’s “Nobody”, Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”, Brandi Carlile’s “Broken Horses”, Spice, Sean Paul & Shaggy’s “Go Down Deh”, Little Simz & Cleo Sol’s “Woman”, Lizzo & Cardi B’s “Rumors”, MO3 and Morray’s “In My Blood”, Isaiah Rashad’s “Headshots (4R Da Locals)” and many more.

Obama’s playlists are usually diverse in terms of genre, and 2021’s is no exception, with the former president handpicking songs from the pop world (Yebba’s “Boomerang”), reggaeton (Aventura and Bad Bunny’s “Volv”), hip-hop (Nas’ “Nobody” with Lauryn Hill, Isaiah Rashad’s “Headshots”), and a surprisingly heavy helping of indie music.

Obama’s selections also have a lot in common with Rolling Stone’s list of the 50 Best Songs of 2021, which includes “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” “The Only Heartbreaker,” “Volv,” MO3 and Morray’s “In My Blood,” Parquet Courts’ “Walking at a Downtown Pace,” and Yotuel Romero, Descemer Bueno, Maykel Osorbo, Eliécer “El Funky”.
