Jim Jones Says Drake Would Be The Best VERZUZ Opponent For Jay-Z

Jim Jones sees Drake as a worthy Verzuz opponent for Jay-Z.

Jim Jones recently did a virtual IG live interview with Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, where he was also asked about the trending conversation of Verzuz against the legendary Jay-Z. “Do you see Nas, Lil Wayne or Kanye West, as a worthy opponent against Jay-Z in a VERZUZ,” asks Robinson.

“Man, I thought about it many times,” said Jones. “Jay made all the sense in the world and he’s one of the illest persons that I’ve seen to get onstage when it comes to performance. I don’t know if people are ready for that type of warfare. I know that wittiness in his creativity, I would leave that alone if I was most of them. The person I think that probably put up the best fight would be Drake man hands down. I know Drake hasn’t been here the duration that Jay has been, but Drake hands down put up platinum hits every time he release any type of record out. When it comes to 20 vs 20 hits, Drake would be the top candidate to jump into the ring with Jay.”

“I know it’s a lot of different things that people say in regards to his qualifications and all that, but when we’re talking about hits and commanding everybody’s attention and making the f**kin’ stadium go crazy? Don’t play with that boy, ya dig? And I’m talking about right now.”

Since the 52-year-old rap legend stated no one could beat him on the Verzuz stage, Hov’s ideal Verzuz opponent has been a hot topic of debate. Several artists have expressed their displeasure with the nominees, while others have advocated for or against them.

Recently, Jay-Z made a statement that no one has the capability to do a Verzuz against him. “No one can stand on that stage with me. It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me,” he said.

Since then, people brought up artists like Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and as strong opponents for Hov. Lil Jon said that Busta Rhymes would “smoke” Jay-Z in a Verzuz showdown, and Benny the Butcher sides with Hov and said no rapper can defeat him. Future also seemingly agreed to a statement that he can win a Verzuz against the legendary rapper. Even Kodak Black shows the desire to go against Jay for a Verzuz bout, with a 15% share of his catalog at stake.
