Eminem Reveals That Guns Blazing Was Actually A Dr. Dre Song, But He Traded It For His Other Track

Eminem talking exchanging songs with Dr. Dre.

Eminem recently elaborated behind-the-scenes stories of his track from “Music To Be Murdered By” Side B, along with Gray Rizzy on Shade 45 Radio. At around the 15:50 minute mark of the interview, Eminem was asked about the Dr. Dre collaboration “Guns Blazing“. He then revealed that it was actually a Dre song, but he traded it for some other record.

That was actually a record that I stole from Dr. Dre,” says Eminem. “Cause he was sending me music and he kept sending me sh*t and I just kept like, every time he sends me some sh*t, I’d like ‘yo this one’s crazier than the last one’. I don’t even know what’s the craziest one. And then he sent me “Guns Blazing” with the hook and his verse and I was like ‘yo, I gotta jump on this sh*t.’ We actually traded a couple of times cause I did a couple of other songs and I’m like ‘yo you can have that one that I just sent you if I can have that one’ and we kinda swapped a little bit. It’s a very personal song.

While we have yet to hear from Dre, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to deny that a sequel to 2015’s Compton is in the works. Let’s hope that when it does arrive, we’ll be able to hear the music that Em truly exchanged in order to get “Guns Blazing” in the first place. Are you looking forward to hearing some new music from the Doc?

Em reunites with Dr. Dre on “Guns Blazing” to swap rhymes and take jabs at their respective spouses. Dre’s verse appears to be addressed for his wife, Nicole Young, whom he divorced earlier this year, but Em’s verse is about a woman named Michelle. Eminem’s Shade 45 visit also featured a dissection of his Snoop Dogg dig on “Zeus” and his comments about cancel culture. At the 15-minute mark in the video above, you can hear Eminem explain “Guns Blazing.”
