On this day in 2000, Eminem released his third studio album “The Marshall Mathers LP”.
Today Marks the 17th Anniversary of Marshall Mathers aka Eminem’s third studio album titled “The Marshall Mathers LP” which was released via Aftermath Entertainment, Interscope Records and Eminem’s newly founded label, Shady Records. The project is one of his best work in his career. The album was mostly produced by Dr. Dre and Eminem himself.
The Grammy Award-winning album sold over 1.78 million copies in the US in its first week, which is still a record for any Hip-Hop album and 4th highest sales in the first week in all genres. The 19 track album become certified Diamond in March 2011 for selling 10 million copies in the US and by December 2016, the project had sold over 11 million copies in the US and more than 32 million copies worldwide. Eminem also released the sequel to the album, ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’ on November 5, 2013. The sequel also won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. Check out the album below.
