This year’s XXL Freshman list has been announced.
We are back at it as XXL returns with their annual Freshman Class and announced the rappers for their 2022 list. The Freshman Class series kicked off in 2007, and they will celebrate its 15th anniversary with top artists of the past 12 months. XXL staff launched the selection process for the 2022 Freshman artists, and it came to an end in April.
The 2022 XXL Freshman Class includes Babyface Ray, Babytron, Big30, Big Scarr, Cochise, Doechii, Kali, KayCyy, KenTheMan, Nardo Wick, Saucy Santana, and Sofaygo. XXL will be releasing freestyles, cyphers, interviews and more of all the 12 Freshman artists this year.

The XXL Freshman issue will hit the stands next month on July 13, featuring additional interviews with Lupe Fiasco, Kevin Gates, Pi’erre Bourne, NLE Choppa, Yvngxchris, producer DJ Dahi, engineer Teezio and singer Chlöe.
Some are viral sensations in their own way, with successful TikTok songs or a lot of Twitter attention. Others are frequently experienced vets who are only now getting their big break after securing major label agreements or obtaining big-name co-signs. While some of the names may be unfamiliar to many readers when they are revealed, many of those names go on to become indisputable stars, headlining festivals, appearing on television, and promoting hip-hop in the society for years after their choices.
The issue will also look back at last year’s Freshman class and what are they up to. The 2021 XXL Freshman Class had Pooh Shiesty, Flo Milli, Morray, 42 Dugg, Iann Dior, Lakeyah, Rubi Rose, Blxst, Toosii, Coi Leray and DDG.
