Benzino Slams Coi Leray's Defense of Eminem's Induction into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Coi Leray defended Eminem when Benzino called out the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

On Saturday morning (May 7), Benzino and his daughter Coi Leray continued their public debate as to the former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star chimed in on her previous comments regarding Eminem.

Benzino, who was outraged over Eminem’s admission into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, was clearly irritated by his daughter’s support for Slim Shady. Soon after Benzino’s tweets, Trendsetter responded, “I’m for love, equality, respect, and forgiveness.” “I’m about love, equality, respect and forgiveness. I have nothing against Eminem, 25 years of my life all I know is he a very talented artist and actor! (8 Mile was great) Let’s build bridges and get over them before you burn the bridge and burn with it.”

The post evidently enraged Benzino, who responded on Twitter on Saturday, stating it was Leray who was responsible for destroying bridges.

“As far as the lil 🦜 who keeps talking about love and forgiveness. Well there’s this word called ‘loyalty’ and a commandment that says ‘Honor thy Mother and Father,'” he tweeted. “As far as burning bridges, there no bridge bigger than the one you burnt with your own blood.”

Benzino went on to explain that he still loves his kid, but that he will “had to do from a distance.” “One day you will realize that the people in these blogs comment section do not really care about you like I do,” he continued, “& your label execs will have you sell your soul to make millions. I LOVE & ADORE my only daughter but I will just have to do it from a distance.”

The strained relationship between Benzino and Leray has been well publicised in recent months. The two have engaged in furious social media interactions, with Leray accusing her father of being absent from her life and threatening her and her mother. Benzino has a propensity of responding on his own accounts, prompting Leray to denounce him to Instagram.

“I tried to hit up Instagram like…I don’t even know who to contact but I’m hitting headquarters like, ‘Report!’ You crazy?! Yes! I try to report him,” she said during a recent interview with Real 92.3. “He does not know the off button! My dad doesn’t understand like, yo. I love my dad because it’s like, family’s everything, right? But blood don’t make you family and when you start doing sh*t that starts questioning your loyalty and who you are as a person, especially to your own daughter, like, alright, bro […] I just have to pray for him. I want him to heal offline.”

Benzino was plainly disappointed that Eminem was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2022 class, pointing out that more seasoned Hip Hop pioneers and architects had yet to get the accolade. On contrast, Eminem was admitted in his first year of eligibility.

“Rock and roll hall of fame is just like the Grammy’s, they have no respect for our culture, Black or Hip Hop and if you don’t agree, you’re racist, period point blank,” he wrote. “Where’s Nas, Eric B and RAKIM, Kool Moe D, Epmd, Fearless Four, Fat Boyz, Lauren Hill, Little Kim, OutKast and 100s other Black rappers?? GTFOH.”
