Will Smith details jealousy with Tupac over his friendship with Jada Pinkett Smith.
This week, Will Smith released his new memoir “Will.” and the book made many revelations about the “I Am Legend” star’s life. Back in the day, Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith had a good friendship with the legendary 2Pac, and the actor reveals his jealousy on their connection in his new book.
Jada’s and Tupac’s bond is well-known. In the years following his passing, the actress has spoken kindly about the artist. In 2017, she chastised the makers of the Tupac film All Eyez on Me for depicting her relationship with ‘Pac inaccurately onscreen. Outlawz member Napolean said in July that Jada implored ‘Pac not to injure Will.
“Though they were never intimate, their love for each other is legendary – they defined ‘ride or die,’” Smith writes in his new book. “In the beginning of our relationship, my mind was tortured by their connection. He was PAC and I was me.”

“Pac was like Harry [Smith’s younger brother] – he triggered the perception of myself as a coward,” he added. “I hated that I wasn’t what he was in the world, and I suffered a raging jealousy. I wanted Jada to look at me like that.”
He continues, “If she chose me over Tupac, there was no way I could be a coward. I have rarely felt more validated. I was in a room with Tupac on multiple occasions, but I never spoke to him. The way Jada loved Pac rendered me incapable of being friends with him. I was too immature.”
Pac penned her a poem titled “Lost Soulz” when he was imprisoned at Riker’s Island, which Jada posted back in June. The “Red Table Talk” host recited the piece aloud in a post to her Instagram account in celebration of what would have been his 50th birthday.
