Rosalía releases the new song “La Fama” with The Weeknd.
Last year, The Weeknd enlisted Spanish singer Rosalía for a remix of his hit single “Blinding Lights“. Now the “After Hours” artist returns the favour as he assists Rosalía on her brand new single called “La Fama” with Spanish vocals. The track comes along with Director X directed music video, which also features a cameo from Danny Trejo.
“I wanted to write, in my own way, a bachata with a little story around ambition,” Rosalia said in a statement. “Taking as a reference the lyrics of Ruben Blades or Patti Smith and the songs of Aventura, I ended up writing a story of romance with fame.”
Later, The Weeknd comes on stage to perform with Rosalia. As he goes in for a kiss, Rosala stabs him while the rest of the crowd cheers her on. The song acts as a warning about how tempting celebrities may be. The lead track on Rosala’s upcoming album, Motomami, due out in 2022, is titled “La Fama.”
The song will appear on Rosalía’s upcoming new album “Motomami”, which is expected to drop in early 2022.
Last week, The Weeknd also assisted Post Malone on his new single “One Right Now“. The Weeknd’s next album, which he just said “was complete,” is also slated to be released shortly. He teased “some big features coming out in the autumn before the album hits,” including “Moth to a Flame” with Swedish House Mafia, the Post Malone duet “One Right Now,” and now his single with Rosala.
