Tyler, The Creator goes back and remembers 50 Cent and old Eminem’s Mixtapes

Tyler, The Creator goes back and remembers the good old days.

Fresh off from his recent digs at Eminem’s current music, Tyler, The Creator is back with another series of tweets but this time takes down the memory lane. His recent tweets are about how he was inspired by 50 Cent and G Unit Music. He Also mentions Eminem’s contribution to the Hip-Hop through his older records and tells the younger generation to listen to mixtapes of Marshall, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Lupe & Jay-Z.

Call Me If You Get Lost, Tyler’s new book, deals with the double-edged blade of growing up in the spotlight. DJ Drama narrates the album, which includes guest performances from 42 Dugg, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Wayne, Domo Genesis, Brent Faiyaz, Lil Uzi Vert, and Pharrell Williams, among others. Tyler handled the production, with Jamie xx and Jay Versace contributing additional production. On “Manifesto,” he raps, “I was cancelled before cancelled was with Twitter fingers,” perhaps alluding to the demonstrations outside of early Odd Future shows, Sara Quinn of Tegan and Sara’s open letter, or his exile from the UK. But it’s difficult to be angry when you have “other-other-other-other” mansions, as Tyler reminds us on “Corso” (“That’s my AKA / Hurricane-proof all the views, stuff like ‘A Bay Bay,’ ” he says).

Tyler’s trademark self-awareness has evolved into some of the most fascinating rap music currently being produced, and “Call Me If You Get Lost” is his greatest effort to date.
