The Weeknd To Drop His New Album Dawn FM This Week

The Weeknd announces his new album “Dawn FM”.

It’s finally official. The Weeknd is dropping his brand new album “Dawn FM” this week on January 7th. He had been teasing the album since last year, which is the follow up to his 2020’s record-breaking project “After Hours” project.

He first teased his new era during the acceptance speech at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards back in May 2021. “I just want to say the After Hours are done and The Dawn is coming,” he told the fans.

Now on New Year’s day, Abel shared a screenshot of text conversation with XO Records co-founder La Mar Taylor. “Happy new year! Everything feels chaotic again. Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let’s just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people… XO,” The Weeknd wrote. Then yesterday he shared another post with a caption, “wake up at dawn tomorrow…,” hinting at the album release very soon.

The Weeknd, who was just voted Billboard’s No. 5 Greatest Pop Star of 2021, has been keeping busy with his songs. With the disco-infused “Take My Breath,” he provided a first taste of his forthcoming album in August. Rosala (“La Fama”), Post Malone (“One Right Now”), FKA Twigs (“Tears in the Club”), and Aaliyah (“Poison”) have all collaborated with him since then.

The album will feature contributions from Jim Carrey, Quincy Jones, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne and Oneohtrix Point Never. He previously released the single “Take My Breath” to kick off his new era.
