The Weeknd Releases New Single & Video Take My Breath

The Weeknd drops a new single “Take My Breath”.

The Weeknd returns with some new material to kick off his new era “The Dawn is Coming” with a brand new single called “Take My Breath“. The song was first teased earlier this week through a Tokyo Olympics Commercial. The promo of Team USA Women’s Track & Field Team features athletes Sydney McLaughlin, Dalilah Muhammad, Athing Mu, and Gabby Thomas.

With a series of tweets, The Weeknd promised a new song, culminating in an austere trailer he published this past Sunday. GQ released the first global issue in 90 years on Monday morning, with The Weeknd as the lone cover star on all copies. In an accompanying interview with GQ, The Weeknd teased what fans might expect from the upcoming album. On the same day, during NBC’s Olympics Prime Time Show show starring Team USA’s women’s track and field team, The Weeknd teased a preview of “Take My Breath,” as well as the release date, in an Olympics advertising teaser.

The new single marks the end of his record-breaking “After Hours” which went on for about 1 and a half years. The new single comes along with an official video. “Great Day for Music,” Abel wrote on his Twitter. Dumping his Red suit, Abel now rocks a black leather suit in the new video.

I saw the fire in your eyes
I saw the fire when I looked into your eyes
You tell me things you wanna try
I know temptation is the devil in disguise,” The Weeknd sings in the first verse.
