The Game Claims That He Got $1 Million From 50 Cent & Jimmy Iovine To Stop Saying G-Unot

The Game is set to release his album “Drillmatic – Mind vs. Heart” next month.

50 Cent’s feud with The Game cost him a ton of cash. Former G-Unit mates have been bickering for years, with no end in sight. Now, Game has made a startling new disclosure regarding their nearly two-decade-long feud.

During his spat with 50 Cent, The Game claimed that he was paid $1 million by 50 Cent and Jimmy Iovine to cease uttering ‘G-Unot.’ The Game recently featured on Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson’s All the Smoke podcast, which launched on YouTube last Friday (May 27), and briefly discussed his previous battle with 50 Cent and G-Unit. The rapper from Compton, California, said that he was given $1 million to quit saying “G-Unot” since it was hurting sales of Fif’s clothing company, G-Unit.

“Lotta people don’t know this, [but] 50 and Jimmy Iovine gave me $1 million to stop saying G-Unot,” he recalled during the interview. “They wrote me a check, they bought it. I had to trademark the G-Unot. And you remember when I was going around with the rat and doing all that sh*t, that sh*t hurt–killed G-Unit.”

“You stopped seeing the candy- tank tops and all that sh*t. All that, the whole G-Unit/Mark Ecko, the shoes, that sh*t died,” he continued. “That sh*t was a hot commodity at once, G-Unit clothing. Ni**as was wearing the sweats, headbands, the masks, everything. That sh*t died, bro. So they had to pay me. I should have asked for more but them ni**as gave me a million. But I’m a hood ni**a, a million dollars to stop saying this word? Where’s the check? They wrote the check and I stopped saying it.”

The Game, who was fired by G-Unit in 2005, claimed that the word “destroyed G-Unit” as a brand.

Though he no longer uses the “G-Unot” moniker, The Game has maintained to feud with 50 throughout the last 17 years, largely through scores of diss recordings and online digs. Yes, there were times when the former labelmates appeared to put their differences aside, but there were never lengthy periods of peace.

For those who are unaware, The Game’s rivalry with 50 Cent began in March 2005, after he was thrown out of the group. Game, enraged by G-treachery, Unit’s initiated a boycott campaign named “G-Unot.” The Documentary rapper and 50 would then swap over a handful diss tracks and issue a barrage of internet threats. There have been occasions when it looked The Game and Fif had resolved their fight, but no formal ceasefire has been proclaimed in their almost two-decade-long feud.

Drillmatic – Mind vs. Heart, The Game’s tenth studio album, will be released on June 17th. He also revealed the cover art for the “greatest album of 2022,” which is executive produced by Hit-Boy.

In recent months, the 42-year-old MC has seen a renaissance, which featured his “Eazy” duet with Kanye West. His self-assurance is also sky-high, and he’s sparked a flurry of heated disputes in recent weeks after stating that he’s bigger than Eminem. He first claimed it in March when speaking with Drink Champs co-hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, and he’s been pushing for a Slim Shady Verzuz ever since.
