The teaser for The Weeknd’s HBO Max series “The Idol” is here.

The teaser trailer for the upcoming HBO Max Series “The Idol” has been released, and it is called “the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood.” The show is created by The Weeknd, Euphoria director Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim.

The series stars The Weeknd himself in the lead role along with Lily Rose Depp. The other cast includes Troye Sivan, Debby Ryan, Rachel Sennott, Steve Zissis and more. The teaser was debuted at Abel’s “After Hours Til Dawn” tour’s concert at Metlife Stadium on July 16th.

The Drama series will he series will focus on a self-help guru and leader [The Weeknd] of a modern-day cult who enters into a complicated relationship with a rising pop idol [Lily-Rose Depp].

The Idol is expected to debut on HBO Max before the end of the year, although a specific date has not yet been set. With Troye Sivan, former Disney Channel legend Debby Ryan, and Transparent breakthrough star Hari Nef all expected to appear in the lead cast of the six-episode first season, it will have a strong main cast.

A group of Tesfaye’s musical peers, including Tyson Ritter of The All-American Rejects, Jennie Kim of Blackpink, and Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio, will supplement the recurrent cast.
