Snoop Dogg Accidentally Shares Tracklist For Dr. Dre's Long-Awaited Album Detox

A tracklist for Dr. Dre’s “Detox” surfaces online.

The fans are still waiting for a new studio album from Dr. Dre, notably the highly anticipated “Detox” album. The last time the legendary producer dropped an album was in 2015, when he released his third studio project “Compton”, with guest appearances from Eminem, The Game, Kendrick Lamar, Xzibit, Anderson .Paak and more.

Since last year, the rumours about a new album from Dre are at their peak, as he teased a project several times. There were also speculations that the album will arrive around the Super Bowl halftime show time, but again the fans left disappointed. Last year, a rumoured tracklist of Dr. Dre’s album surfaces online, and now another tracklist leaked, which is straight from the producer’s lab.

The good Doctor was back in the studio working on his long-awaited album Detox in January, according to reports. “Right now, I’m working on a few of tracks.” When asked if he had permanently shelved the legendary album, Dre told ESPN reporter Chris Haynes, “We’ll see.” “I saw him in the studio recently and can tell you that he’s definitely working on new music. Not sure about the title but he’s absolutely recording new material.”

Snoop Dogg has been spending a lot of time with his longtime collaborator Dre, and recently posted some pictures from the studio. A fan zoomed in on one of the pictures, which showed Detox written on top of the whiteboard, with a lot of blurred songs.

We recently received new music from Dr. Dre through the soundtrack of “GTA Online: The Contract“, with features from Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Anderson. Paak and more. Some of the tracks from the Detox tracklist are featured in the GTA album. Other tracks are titled “Bussa Move”, “Guilty”, “Californication”, “Propane”, “Tribe Called West”, and “Morning Glory”.

Dr. Dre initially informed Detox in 2002, but updates to the album throughout the years revealed that it was still in the works. The album “Detox” was expected to be released in 2010, following the release of 50 Cent’s “Before I Self Destruct” and Eminem’s “Relapse.” Dr. Dre was responsible for producing the majority of the tracks on the album. On May 28, 2009, Dr. Dre gave the public their first taste of “Detox” in a commercial for Dr Pepper. In a 2009 interview on BET’s 106 & Park, 50 Cent and Eminem stated that Dr. Dre had roughly a dozen completed songs for “Detox.”

When questioned about Detox in a discussion with Chris Haynes in 2018, Dre informed fans that he was “working on a couple tracks.” It is unknown when Detox will be released. Dre stated on Beats 1 Radio in 2015, before of the marketing for the movies Straight Outta Compton and Compton: A Soundtrack By Dr. Dre, why the legendary record never materialised.

“This is something you’re not gonna hear many artists say: the reason that Detox didn’t come out was because I didn’t like it,” he said. “It wasn’t good. The record, it just wasn’t good… I mean seriously, I worked my ass off on it, but I didn’t think I did a good enough job. I couldn’t do that to my fans, I couldn’t do that to myself, to be honest.”
