All The Nominees & Winners At 2022 MTV Video Music Awards

Bad Bunny wins artist of the year at MTV VMAs 2022.

The annual MTV Video Music Awards took place earlier tonight at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The show was hosted by Nicki Minaj, Jack Harlow and the legendary LL Cool J.

As announced previously, Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X lead the pack with seven nominations each. Doja Cat and Harry Styles are with the second most nominations as they get nods in six categories each. Drake, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and The Weeknd with five nominations each.

The 2022 event featured several great performances, including the Queen of the Barbz Nicki Minaj, who light up the stage with a medley of hits and also received Video Vanguard Award. She also won a VMA for her Lil Baby Collaboration “Do We Have A Problem?”.

The duo of Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X received multiple awards for their smash hit “INDUSTRY BABY”, while Harlow also earned the Song of the Summer for “First Class”.

Bad Bunny, who had been dominating the Billboard Charts throughout this year, was named as the 2022 artist of the year. Taylor Swift was also honoured with multiple awards for her “All Too Well” music video, and she also announced the release date of her new album. “I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand-new album comes out Oct. 21,” she said.

As he accepted the VMA for album of the year at Madison Square Garden, where he was set to play that night, Harry Styles, who won album of the year for Harry’s House, announced the award. Lisa won the VMA for best K-pop, defeating artists like BTS, however, BTS was voted group of the year (they were not in attendance).

For “About Damn Time,” Lizzo received the VMA for “video for good.” In her statement, she stated: “Vote to change some of these laws that are oppressing us. I don’t know what ‘video for good’ means, but I know what your vote means. She also appeared to address the recent viral fat-shaming remarks made by comedian Aries Spears.
