NBA Youngboy Calls Out His Label Atlantic Records For Blackballing Him

NBA Youngboy takes shots at his label, advises others not to sign Atlantic Records.

NBA Youngboy recently dropped his new album “Colors“, which is currently on the #2 spot on Billboard 200. However, the project has reportedly been removed from an Apple Music Chart, and the rapper addressed the situation through his Youtube Community post. Taking to his channel with around 11 million subscribers, the Baton Rouge rapper calls out Atlantic Records for trying to “Black Ball” him.

“I was going #1 two weeks straight with a mixtape so they took it down off the charts I don’t give a f**k you still can’t stop me,” reads the screenshot. “Don’t sign to atlantic if you artist they not gone support you especially if you live a certain way.” In the caption of the post, the rapper said, “Why black ball me I’m the good guy.”

In an interview with DJ Akademiks last year, the rapper discussed how label takes advantage off their artists. “I think as you…you learn how badly you’ve been taken advantage of,” he said. “I never got paid for YouTube a day in my life. Ni**as make all the money off my YouTube, and then give me a small percentage of my sh*t. All that sh*t slavery or something. But you know, that’s what we signed up for in this business.”

NBA Youngboy isn’t the only one who’s unhappy with Atlantic Records. Earlier today, Meek Mill also called out the label for not supporting him and trying to separate him from Roddy Ricch. Meek claimed that Atlantic neglected to fund the costs of marketing his most recent record, preventing him from releasing fresh material. “They didn’t put nothing into Expensive Pain and then said I can’t drop another project for 9 months at the end of my contract after I made them 100’s of millions …,” he added. “How would can anybody survive that? … most rappers can’t speak because they depend on these companies ‘I don’t.’”
