Nas Says He's Giving Us New Music Because He Caught Holy Spirit

Nas reflects on continue making new music.

This week, Nas returned with another new project, which is a collab effort with Hit-Boy titled “Magic 2”. This is the fifth project from Nas and Hit-Boy in the past three years, as the two previously linked up on “King’s Disease 3“, following “King’s Disease” (2020), “King’s Disease II” (2021) and “Magic” (2021).

Following the release, the Illmatic rapper says that he caught the holy spirit which inspired him to make new music. “I’m happy to be around making new music because I love it. Having the best year of my life. I caught the Holy Spirit and I’m grateful to be giving it all to the world. Magic 2,” he wrote.

The new project comes with a pack of 11 tracks, which includes the previously released bonus track “One Mic, One Gun” with 21 Savage. The full project contains one additional collaboration from 50 Cent on the song titled “Office Hours”.

“Nas got a CD coming out, Magic 2, that I’m featured on,” said 50 Cent. “I got a joint with him called ‘Office Hours’ we did together. We ain’t worked together since Power of a Dollar. It was cool to get in with him and do something like that. It’s interesting that the relationship is different because we in two different places now.”

In an interview previously, the Nas also reflected on Hip-Hop, which also turning 50 this year. “It’s become my therapist, my friend,” Nas said. “It’s not always the happiest place, sometimes I want to do other things. But I feel compelled to be there. In this day and time, it’s all about the studio.”
