Lollapalooza Removed DaBaby From 2021 Show over Homophobic Rant

DaBaby is dropped from Lollapalooza 2021 set after homophobic comments.

DaBaby continues to see the effect of his recent homophobic rant, as he is dropped from the Lollapalooza 2021 lineup. Recently, DaBaby performed at Rolling Loud Miami, in which he said, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly se*ually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up. Ladies, if your p***y smell like water, put your cellphone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d**k in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.” After that, he is getting a lot of flak on social media, as well as celebrities from the music industry.

The rapper was due to headline the Bud Light Seltzer stage on the last day of Chicago’s Lollapalooza tonight, but organizers have now issued a statement announcing that DaBaby has been withdrawn from the lineup as a result of his comments.

Today, Lollapalooza announced that they have replaced the Cleveland rapper by Young Thug for tonight’s show at Grant Park. “Lollapalooza was founded on diversity, inclusivity, respect, and love. With that in mind, DaBaby will no longer be performing at Grant Park tonight. Young Thug will now perform at 9:00pm on the Bud Light Seltzer Stage, and G Herbo will perform at 4:00pm on the T-Mobile Stage,” they said in a statement.

Instead, Young Thug will take DaBaby’s place on the Bud Light Seltzer stage, moving across from the T-Mobile stage. Young Thug’s slot on the T-Mobile stage, which will be headlined by Foo Fighters, has been filled by G Herbo.

Dua Lipa, who has collaborated with DaBaby on “Levitating“, was horrified with his homophobic rant. “I’m surprised and horrified at DaBaby’s comments,” she said. “I really don’t recognize this as the person I worked with. I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100% with the LGBTQ community. We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS.
