Kendrick Lamar & Nicki Minaj Wins Favorite Male & Female Hip-Hip Artists At AMAs 2022; Full Winners List

Taylor Swift dominates American Music Awards 2022.

The 50th annual American Music Awards took place earlier tonight at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, which was hosted by Wayne Brady.

The night belongs to Taylor Swift, who dominated the AMAs as she won the most 6 trophies, in all the categories she was nominated in. She was awarded with the ceremony’s top honour, Artist of the Year. She also won favourite music video, favourite female pop artist, favourite pop album, favourite female country artist and favourite country album. Taylor Swift now becomes the first artist in history to win 40 AMAs.

“You encouraged me and I found that the more music I made and the more music I put out, the happier I was, the more I just kept that channel open and just kept creating, kept making things,” Swift said. “So, I have the fans to thank, essentially, for my happiness. And I love you more than I can say, I cannot express how unbelievable it is to me that I still get to do this and that you still care.”

Kendrick Lamar was also awarded a couple of honours, which included favourite male hip-hop artist, and his favourite hip-hop album for his recent project “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” He beats Drake, Future, Lil Baby and Lil Durk for favourite male rap artists.

Grammy Awards 2023 Nominations Announced: Beyonce, Adele & Kendrick Lamar Dominates

Nicki Minaj took home favourite female hip-hop artist after beating Cardi B, GloRilla, Latto and Megan Thee Stallion. Future was awarded favourite hip-hop song, for his Drake and Tems collab “Wait For U”. The other nominees in the category were Jack Harlow, Kodak Black, Latto and Lil Nas X.
