Kendrick Lamar Made Over $400k With First Day Streams Of New Album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers

Kendrick Lamar’s new album made around half a million with first-day streams.

Kendrick Lamar earned the Billboard 200 number 1 spot with the new album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers“, as it sold over 295,500 equivalent units in the first week, which is the biggest of this year. The album had one of the top debuts for rap projects from 2021 to now, as the only albums that sold more than him are “Donda” from Kanye West and “Certified Lover Boy” from Drake.

The project was a double-disc album, with 9 tracks on each side, with guest appearances from Kodak Black, Baby Keem, Blxst, Summer Walker, Ghostface Killah and more.

K. Dot’s new project also broke streaming records on the first day as it earned over 100 million streams on Global Spotify, the biggest of his career. With this achievement, he became the sixth artist to cross the 100 million mark on Spotify. Kendrick now has the fourth biggest album debut in global Spotify History. The list is topped by Drake with his last year’s album “Certified Lover Boy” which earned 155 million on the first day.

The huge streaming numbers earned him almost half a million dollars, as the rapper made more than $400K in a single day off of first-day album streams.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers gained 295,500 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending May 19, the biggest week of the year for any album. This is the third week in a row that the mark has been broken. Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti debuted at No. 1 with 274,000 downloads a week ago, while Future’s I Never Liked You debuted at No. 1 with 222,000 downloads the week before.
