Kanye West details the reason behind the “DONDA” delay.
Kanye West was supposed to drop his highly anticipated album “DONDA” over a month ago, but it’s keep getting delayed every week. Kanye West has already held three huge listening events, two in Atlanta and the most recent in Chicago. During the latest event, Ye surprised everyone as he brought out the controversial DaBaby, for the guest verse on the song “Jail”. The track previously featured a verse from Jay-Z, which is now replaced by DaBaby. Now in his new IG posts, it is revealed that DaBaby’s verse is the reason behind the delay of the album.

Kanye West shared the screenshot of the chat where his manager is telling him that DaBaby’s manager isn’t clearing “Jail” and not answering their phone. Ye responds and said that he won’t remove his brother DaBaby from the album as he was the only person who said he would vote for him.
He shared another screenshot of his conversation with DaBaby, where the latter is telling Ye that he didn’t know about this. Kanye called DaBaby’s manager “cap”, and said that people next to DaBaby is trying to destroy him.
Donda was supposed to be published on August 6, although it was originally supposed to be accessible on July 23—one day after his first album listening session in Atlanta. He also held a smaller listening gathering in Las Vegas earlier in July.
The album’s release event on Thursday, August 5, which was live-streamed on Apple Music, contained a number of tracks originally released during the July 22 listening event, along with some changes and changed track order.
Now it looks like the album is all set to drop next Friday on September 3rd, where it will clash with Drake’s new project “Certified Lover Boy.”
