Eminem & Rihanna's Love The Way You Lie Surpassed 1 Billion Spotify Streams

Eminem achieves another milestone on Spotify.

Just a couple of weeks after “The Real Slim Shady” reached this milestone, Eminem now has another track in the 1 Billion Spotify club. Eminem’s collaboration “Love The Way You Lie” with Rihanna has now surpassed a billion streams on Spotify. It was released in June 2010, as the second single from his album “Recovery”.

The song won many awards and received five Grammy nominations. It is Eminem’s best-selling single sold over 12 million copies in the US and 1.5 million in the UK. The video for the track is also his most viewed one on Youtube, with over 2.4 billion.

338,000 digital downloads of the song were sold in its first week, propelling it to the top spot on the US Digital Songs chart. It spent seven weeks at the top of the Hot 100 from July 31 to September 11, 2010, earning Eminem his fourth and Rihanna her seventh number-one US single. In the week of August 14, 2010, the song sold more than 300,000 digital copies, propelling it to the second spot on the Pop Songs and Radio Songs charts. In that country, 6 million copies had been sold by October 2013 and 6.5 million by October 2015.

The track now becomes the rapper’s fifth track to reach this milestone on Spotify. Eminem’s previous songs with over 1 Billion streams include “The Real Slim Shady”, “Without Me”, “Lose Yourself” and “Till I Collapse”.

Just recently, the rapper made his musical return with the release of two new tracks. He first linked up with CeeLo Green for “The King & I” off Elvis Movie Soundtrack, and last week collaborated with Snoop Dogg on the “From The D To The LBC” which was released with BoredApe NFT-inspired music video. He followed them up with the announcement of his second greatest hits album “Curtain Call 2“, which is dropping on August 5th.
