Eminem Praises Al Michaels At Super Bowl You're The GOAT, Man

Eminem shows love to Al Michaels at the Super Bowl.

Last night was historical for hip-hop as Dr. Dre recruited Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent for an epic halftime show at the Super Bowl LVI. It was a special night for the rap community, as well as the Los Angeles Rams who have crowned champions of this season after beating the Cincinnati Bengals in the star-studded SoFi Stadium.

Dr. Dre and his West Coast proteges Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, Aftermath Records superstar Eminem, and maybe percussionist Anderson. Paak, with his furiously funky live backing band, or surprise guest 50 Cent, might have headlined the Super Bowl on their own. Each musician also had a brief solo moment in the SoFi limelight. However, it was Eminem who drew the most attention on Sunday, when the sombre, hoodie-clad Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominee closed his performance of “Forgot About Dre” and the Oscar-winning 8 Mile theme “Lose Yourself” by kneeling next to Dre’s white piano.

The legendary sports commentator Alan Richard Michaels was also in attendance and had a meeting with Eminem backstage. “The [Los Angeles] Rams are in their home stadium and then you’re doing the game. That’s crazy,” says Eminem, who was rocking the Snoop Dogg’s “Doggy style” album hoodie.

“You’re the best, best in the show,” says Michaels. “Thank you, you’re the GOAT man, you’re the GOAT,” responds Eminem.

Eminem continues, “I’m telling you, I was telling your wife. Since I was a little kid… all the way until now. I watch sh*tty games when you’re doing them, because [you’re commentating], right? And there’s a rumor, there’s a rumor, that you may retire.” “Hmmm…I’ll be somewhere,” says Michaels. “No, you’re long way from retiring,” said Eminem.
