Watch Eminem & LL Cool J - Rock The Bells (Live Hall of Fame Performance)

Eminem and LL Cool J’s “Rock The Bells” performance is released.

At the end of last month, this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony took place in Cleveland, Ohio. The event honoured two hip-hop icons, LL Cool J and Jay-Z as the latest inductions for the prestigious award. Eminem, Jennifer Lopez and Dr. Dre helped LL Cool J get inducted into the Hall of Fame.

While Dr. Dre paid tribute to LL Cool J with a speech, Jennifer Lopez and Eminem both joined LL for live performances. Jeniffer Lopez joined LL for a performance of “All I Have”, then the Detroit rapper made a surprise appearance to assist his idol for “Rock the Bells” live. As the ceremony officially aired on HBO today, their performance also surfaces online.

“LL’s body of work contains some of the most diverse hip-hop has ever seen. He became rap’s first pop superstar while staying true to his roots representing Queens, New York. The second thing I think about this is remarkable longevity. Now I’ve been doing this for 35 years and I’ve seen artists come and go; they get one or two hits and then they’re gone; they disappear. But LL’s longevity is unparalleled in hip-hop,” said Dr. Dre.

In his acceptance speech, he says “I’d like to thank all of the people who voted for LL to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame year after year. A lot people, when I told them when I told them I got inducted, they’d say to me, ‘Isn’t it is about time?’

“You see, what people don’t realise is, I wasn’t thinking about the people who voted against me. I was thinking about the people who voted for me. It was love. Like what I was feeling was, ‘Wow, here’s some people over there who won’t take no for an answer.’ They like, ‘Yo this guy got to be in here and we’re going to keep fighting for you till we get him in here.’ So I thank you. Other than that, Queens, of course, Harlem, uptown. Queens, I love you.”
