Eminem Buys Bored Ape NFT For Almost Half Million Dollars

Eminem gets his hands on “Bored Ape” NFT for 123.45 ETH.

Eminem, who entered the NFT market with the “Shady Con” drop earlier in 2021, has now dropped a fortune for the popular “Bored Ape” collectable. The Detroit rapper has changed his profile picture with his new “Bored Ape” NFT figure, and it is revealed that he spend around 123.45 ETH on the purchase, which is around $ 460,000.

Snoop Dogg and Eminem’s latest music video for “From the D 2 The LBC.” has amassed over 15 Million views on YouTube. The almost five-minute video, which aired on Friday, shows the two renowned rappers blowing smoke in the studio. The smoking causes Eminem to have some bizarre hallucinations, including picturing himself and Snoop as Bored Ape NFT characters based on the NFTs the musicians possess.

Last week, the duo performed the song live for clubgoers at the Bored Ape Yacht Club in New York City while also releasing the music video.

Eminem now becomes a member of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, which is a collection of 10,000 unique Bored Ape NFTs— unique digital collectables living on the Ethereum blockchain. The owner of the NFT first asked Eminem to buy the “Bored Ape” way back in July.

The Detroit rapper now joins the likes of Snoop Dogg, Post Malone, Stephen Curry, Jimmy Fallon and more who are the members of the club with their Bored Ape NFTs. Meanwhile, a digital firm called Six has claimed credit for the transaction, as originally reported by Decrypt, however, this is far from Eminem’s first excursion into NFTs. The rapper has 166 NFTs from 32 collections, according to Dappradar.

In April 2021, Eminem launched his first batch of NFTs through Nifty Gateway. The total amount raised was slightly shy of $1.8 million. Digital action figures, characters from classic Eminem videos, Mathers’ original musical tracks, and rare tangible goods were among the items on display.

During Eminem’s “Shady Con” drop, a total of 2368 NFTs were sold for $741,000 in total, which included action figures, Slim Shady doll, Marshall Mathers figure and trading figure. DJ Premier, 50 Cent, FredWreck were among the buyers of Eminem’s NFTs.
