This week’s Billboard charts numbers are in and UK artist Ed Sheeran earns the number 1 spot with his latest album “=“. The album reportedly moved 118,000 equivalent units in the first week, with 68,000 pure sales. The “Shape of You” singer dethroned Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy“, which topped the Billboard chart for its 5th week previously. The Toronto Rapper’s album moved 67,000 units this week.

Ed Sheeran’s fifth studio album “Equals” is a follow-up to his 2019’s project “No. 6 Collaborations Project”, which also topped the Billboard Charts. Ed Sheeran’s latest album also debuts atop the UK Albums Chart with 139,000 equivalent units in the first week, the biggest album-opening in the UK this year. The album was also the most-streamed project on Spotify this week.

Sheeran has now spent 13 weeks at the top of the Artist 100, breaking a tie with Adele and Billie Eilish for the eighth-most weeks spent at No. 1 since the chart’s inception in 2014. Taylor Swift is the most successful artist of all time, having spent 49 weeks at the top of the charts.
