Drake Pays Tribute To Late Indian Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Punjab on Sunday.

Sidhu Moose Wala, the popular Indian Punjabi singer was shot dead in Jawaharke village of Mansa district in Punjab at the age of 28. The singer was travelling with two other men, and 30 rounds were fired at them by unidentified assailants. He was then brought to the Civil Hospital in Mansa, where he was declared dead. A Canadian gangster of Punjabi origin, identified as Satinder Singh alias Goldy Brar, claimed responsibility for the murder.

Moose Wala was the only Indian singer who was followed by the Canadian rap star Drake, and he paid homage to the late artist through his IG story. Champagne Papi shared the picture of the late singer with his mother and wrote, “RIP Moose.” Artists like Russ, Nav, and others also shared condolence messages through their social media.

Drake made headlines in 2020 when he began following Moosewala on Instagram. Moosewala was a regular performer at live performances in Canada, citing Drake as one of his musical influences and following him on social media.

“I always had the feeling that Sidhu and Drake would collab one day because they both have links to Toronto and it would have been massive for the Punjabi music industry, it’s a shame we’ll never see it happen now,” said a fan. “Didn’t even get to see that Drake x Sidhu collab or that Nav x Sidhu collab,” wrote another. “Being a punjabi, I am a die-hard fan of Sidhu Moose Wala and just tweeted before his death that I wanted a collab of him with drake. Life is so unpredictable. Always loved his vibe. I’ll miss him,” tweeted another fan.
