Snoop Dogg Says Kendrick Lamar Took The King Of West Coast Crown From Him

Snoop Dogg loves Kendrick Lamar’s new album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers”.

Snoop Dogg was the latest guest on Logan Paul and Mike Majlak’s podcast Impaulsive, where the rapper discuss a range of topics, including final moments with 2Pac & Kobe, walking in on a nak*d Katy Perry, why Lebron isn’t the GOAT, betting millions on Jake Paul, buying Death Row Records, turning down $2mil from Michael Jordan and more.

He was also asked about the current scene in LA Hip-Hop, to which he said that Kendrick Lamar took the crown from him. “I mean I did my thing for 20 something years as far as being the king of the west coast,” he said. “Gave the crown to Kendrick Lamar. I didn’t gave it to him, he actually took it and he’s been running wild with it and the music that’s been coming out from the west has been very, very good, it’s not local no more, it’s global.”

He also showed some praise for K. Dot’s new #1 album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers“. “I f**kin love it. You take your time like that, that’s what you get. Kendrick is the kinda artist that is part of the production, you can’t send him a beat, he’s a part of the process, the full process.”

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers are adored by many rap legends, including Snoop Dogg. While pinging his good buddy Dr. Dre on Twitter shortly after the album’s release on May 13, Eminem termed it “f**king ridiculous” and that it left him “speechless.”

Many other rappers have openly complimented Kendrick Lamar’s fifth album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. They include Lupe Fiasco, Earl Sweatshirt, Lil Durk, Tyler, The Creator, and Kodak Black (who makes many cameos on the album).
