Drake's For All The Dogs Album Debuts With Record Opening Day Numbers On Spotify

Drake earns record debut numbers for “For All The Dogs” on Spotify.

Drake finally released his brand new eighth studio album “For All The Dogs“, which debuts with record numbers on Spotify.

After teasing it for the past couple of months, Drake dropped his brand new album “For All The Dogs”, a follow-up to last year’s “Honestly Nevermind”. Following the release, the album hit the 100 million mark on Spotify. According to Spotify, the project was streamed 108.7m on the opening day, which is the second biggest for a rap album this year. At the top of the list is Travis Scott’s Utopia with 128.5 million streams. Drizzy’s new album failed to top the list as it was released at 6 Am and wasn’t able to track the numbers for a full 24 hours.

However, For All The Dogs now becomes the fourth rap album with the most opening day streams in Spotify history. The first two spots were held by Drake himself, with his albums “Certified Lover Boy” and “Scorpion”. The fifth on the list is Kendrick Lamar with his last year’s comeback album “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers”.

The Toronto rap star is also expected to occupy 17 of the top 20 spots on the US Billboard Hot 100 next week. Drizzy’s new J. Cole collab “First Person Shooter” is projected to earn the top spot on the charts.

For All The Dogs is expected to earn him another number 1 spot on the US Billboard 200, and it will become fourth fourth-highest first-week sales album of 2023. Following the release, the Toronto rap star also became the first rapper to surpass 80 million monthly listeners on the music platform Spotify.
