Busta Rhymes Accept Funk Flex's Challenge To Drop New Music In Next Six Days

Funk Flex wants Busta Rhymes to share some new music.

Busta Rhymes hasn’t been musically active this year, and now he’s been called out by Funk Flex to drop new music within the next week. The Hot 97 DJ has been challenging other rappers like Juelz Santana, Conway The Machine, Jadakiss, Fabolous and more to release new music, and now he’s picked Busta Rhymes.

“Busta Rhymes, you making a lot of tour money. I see you putting out independent records, holding onto a lot of bread. You been getting money for alooooooot of years,” he said on his show. “If anybody sees Busta Rhymes, you call him and you @ him and you tell him I challenge him to get me a song in six days. Busta Rhymes, do you accept the challenge or not?”

He continued, “You challenge me, I challenge you. You challenge me to get those songs before the DSPs. You challenge me to get those songs before Apple, before Spotify. Before YouTube, before Tidal. I’m gonna do my job.” “Are you going to accept the challenge — yes or no? You let me know,” he added.

Now it looks like Busta Rhymes has accepted the challenge, and ready for all the smoke. “The Smokin’ Section is what it’s called…. WE EXCEPT EVERY CHALLENGE @funkflex & WE WANT ALL THE SMOKE!!! LET’S DANCE!!,” he wrote with a picture of him in studio.

Since collaborating with Mariah Carey on “Where I Belong,” a track on Busta Rhymes’ critically praised 2020 comeback album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, the “Woo Hah!!” rapper has yet to release a single of his on the mainstream market.

He has worked with Stylo G and LION BABE on a few occasions, and last year, he shared the stage with Redman on the posthumously Phife Dawg hit “Nutshell Pt. 2.”

Busta collaborated with Nas, Swizz Beatz, The Dream, Jadakiss, and Dave East for a late-night studio session, according to earlier this week’s reports. It is unknown if it will result in a collab.
