The Winners & Performances at MTV Video Music Awards 2021.
Earlier tonight, the annual MTV Video Music Awards aired live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The 2021 event was hosted by Doja Cat, who was also among the performer at the show. The MTV VMAs 2021 which started with a brawl between Conor McGregor and Machine Gun Kelly on the red carpet, had some spectacular moments and performances.
The event was simulcast on The CW, a free over-the-air broadcaster, with Mountain and Pacific time zones broadcasting it live and others delayed for primetime, as well as on other ViacomCBS networks and platforms. With three prizes apiece, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo, and BTS were the most rewarded artists of the night, followed by Billie Eilish and Justin Bieber with two each; the latter was also the most nominated artist with nine nominations. Beyoncé increased her lead as the show’s most-awarded artist, winning her 29th trophy. Blue Ivy Carter also became the show’s youngest winner in its history.

Justin Bieber, who was nominated in the most, seven categories, won Artist of the Year and Best Pop. Megan Thee Stallion was second on the list with nominations in six categories. She was unable to win in any of the nominated categories. Lil Nas X is always one of the most talked-about celebs in the recent award show, wins the Video of the year for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)“. He also performed his latest single “Industry Baby” with Jack Harlow. The song of the year goes to Olivia Rodrigo for her track called “Drivers License.” She was also honored with the Best New Artist trophy.

Travis Scott won the VMA in Best Hip-Hop, for his song called “Franchise” with Young Thug & MIA. The Korean band BTS won the award for Group of the year. The host of the show Doja Cat, took home the trophy for best collaboration, for her SZA joint titled “Kiss Me More.” Silk Sonic, the duo of Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars get “Best R&B” for “Leave The Door Open.”
The 2021 MTV VMAs also had some amazing performances, from the likes of Justin Bieber, Machine Gun Kelly, Ed Sheeran, Lil Nas X, and more. Justin Bieber was joined for The Kid LAROI for a performance of “Stay” and “Ghost.” Latto performed her hit “Big Energy,” Olivia Rodrigo performed “Good 4 U” and “Muwop,” Saint JHN performed “Trap” and “Sucks To Be You.” The host of the show, Doja Cat gave a performance of her hits “Been Like This” & “You Right.” Normani was also among the performers with her track called “Wild Side.” Polo G also performed his hit “RAPSTAR.” Alicia Keys performer her classic “Empire State of Mind,” along with the latest Swae Lee Collaboration “LALA.” Busta Rhymes also made an appearance to perform a medley of hits.
