Tony Yayo Says Eminem Is Top 5 Because He's A Lyrical Tyrant In Response To Melle Mel

Tony Yayo discussed Melle Mel’s comments on Eminem.

Tony Yayo recently made an appearance on VladTV, where they discussed Benzino beef, and how his daughter Coi Leray is doing well now. The rapper was asked about Zino randomly throwing shots at Eminem, to which he says, “Eminem really never say nothing. Eminem is the type of ni**a that could watch you, he will make a diss record to destroy you and then just chill in the crib. Shout out to Eminem.”

He continued, “I am saying is, We even got called House Ni**as for f**king with Eminem. The Source, they would take it to whole another level. That’s when the disrespect for me was like. Damn, what does color have to do anything with music. What does the color have to do anything with people. I don’t care what color or religion you are. That’s just me, we from New York, it’s a melting pot of people, we grew up with all kinds of people. So I don’t give a f**k what color you are. I don’t look at you as a culture vulture because you white. That could be somebody else’s opinion. It’s not mine.”

Melle Mel Responds To Being Called Racist After Eminem Slander

The former G-Unit rapper then responded to Melle Mel’s statement that Eminem is only a top 5 on Billboard top 50 list because he’s white. “[Melle Mel] said something about Eminem. That’s his opinion,” he said. “My thing is, he [Eminem] and Fifty did more for me than anybody has ever done in my career. I’mma shout out Eminem but everybody always blow shots at Eminem. He wouldn’t be on no list if he was not a f**king lyrical tyrant. If he was not f**king nice with it. No disrespect to Melle Mel, I know he’s a legend in the game but at the end of the day, Eminem is lyrical.”

Previously, the Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five icon responded to criticism for his views on Eminem, and being called a racist. “Everybody’s just so angry that I would say that,” said Melle Mel. “I’ve even been branded a racist, which is neither here nor there because that’s almost impossible. I’ve been playing for all different kinds of people all my life. That is so far off-kilt that I don’t understand. But Eminem made a record, I guess the album was ‘White America’… where he said he wouldn’t be as popular if he wasn’t white.”

“So now my point, and it’s very simple, if he basically said what I said, we said very similar things, how could what he say not be racist but then what I said was racist? In other words, if he’s right for saying what he’s saying, then the only reason that I could be wrong is that I’m Black and I said it.”
