Lil Durk Reveals He Spent Two Years To Find Right Record For J. Cole Collab

Lil Durk talks details behind J. Cole collab “All My Life”.

Lil Durk recently released his eighth studio album “Almost Healed“, which earned him another Billboard 200 top 10 debut. The album also featured a collab with J. Cole titled “All My Life” which was one of the fan favourites.

In a new interview with Nadeska, Smurk revealed that he’s been trying to find the right record for Cole for the past two years.

“He went super crazy,” the Chicago rapper said. “And it’s so crazy because we’d been talking for, like, two years. He’d always be like, ‘Send me a record.’ And I’m like, ‘I gotta find the right record.’ Man, I’m glad it wasn’t three years. In my eyes, he a legend so if you have a chance to do a song with a legend, you either send them something just to send it, just to say you got one, or you gon’ make it stick. But that’s why I never just sent him a record. ‘Cause I’m like, ‘I want something that’s gon’ stick.’ Yeah, as soon as I did the record, he’s the first person that popped into my head. I’m like, ‘I got it.’ Yeah, that’s why I believe in timing. Timing is everything.”

Previously, Durk stated that Cole smoked him on his own song. “The number one thing he smoked my a*s on that for one,” Durk said about the collab with Cole. “That barely happens … shout out to J Cole.”

Smurk’s latest album additionally featured Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Juice WRLD, Morgan Wallen and more.
