The Weeknd Drops Two New Songs A Lesser Man & Take Me Back From The IDOL Soundtrack

The Weeknd shares two new track from “The IDOL”.

The Weeknd continues putting out new music on a weekly basis as the R&B star now shares two more songs “A Lesser Man” and “Take Me Back”. The new offerings come with the release of the third episode of his HBO series “The IDOL”. This follows up on Weeknd’s previous offering “The Lure“.

“A Lesser Man” is produced by Mike Dean, and it was first teased and performed in Horsens, Denmark, as part of the second leg of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour. “I’m a lesser man, a lesser man / A lesser man than you think I am / You think you know but you have no idea / I’m a lesser man, you’re the best of them,” sings Abel.

The second track “Take Me Back” is also produced by Mike Dean, along with Metro Boomin and The Weeknd himself. The song was first surfaced on the 10th of April 2023 alongside its instrumental, reference track (Lily-Rose Depp) and acapella.

“Never understood why Mama cried, and / Could it be because our secret’s hiding? / I always thought someday you’d find us, but / Waiting for you is like slowly dying,” he sings.

Previously, he stated that his next album will probably be his last with The Weeknd name. “The visuals are vital to my career,” Tesfaye explained. “The album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as The Weeknd. This is something that I have to do. As The Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say.”
