Dame Dash Says Kanye West Turned Into Our New Michael Jackson

Dame Dash compares Kanye West to Michael Jackson.

A new Kanye West docuseries “jeen-yuhs” recently premiered on Netflix, and the rapper is receiving praise for his film which was shot over the last two decades of Ye’s career. Dame Dash, one of the people who helped Kanye West sign to Rock-A-Fella when other labels ignored him, now connects with The Jasmine Brand to talk about the new documentary.

“I was always the guy that ran around with a camera ’cause I knew that these moments were priceless, it was just a matter of when it was time,” said Dame. “So, I was glad that they actually took that advice and did that, or at least followed the example. So, I got a lotta footage, but it’s just the time, it’s always about the times. I think this is the right time for that. So you get insights of who Kanye is.”

Dame dash continues, “He’s turning into our new Michael Jackson, whether that’s negative or positive. That’s just it is what it is. Every move he makes, everybody’s paying attention to… he triggers the world. He wasn’t very bold back then, but he was always very confident.”

Dash is also preparing to film the sequel to 2002’s Paid in Full, which, would take set in Newark, New Jersey and will include a slew of new characters: “So you’ll see a perspective from the stickup kids at the time, see a perspective of the younger dudes, I was a younger dude, the 16-year-olds. You’ll see perspectives from Kevin Childs, Jay Black, everybody, Lou Simms. It’s going to be off the hook. Trust me. A lot of other little stories will be told.”
