Big Daddy Kane Says Eminem Studies Hip-Hop Like A Scientist

Big Daddy Kane talks about his influence on Eminem.

Big Daddy Kane recently sat down with Talib Kweli and Jasmin Leigh for an interview on their podcast “People’s Party with Talib Kweli” where he talked about a lot of things, including his recent meeting with Eminem. He said that he heard about his influence on Eminem’s style from Proof, but he didn’t really see it until he met him.

Honestly, I didn’t recognize it until I spoke to Proof. Rest in peace, Proof,” says Big Daddy Kane. “Eminem has a unique style, but I didn’t really see how it resembled mine. If anything, flow-wise, it resembled more Busta. That’s just my opinion. We did that interview [with Eminem] just recently. He was talking to me about my rhymes, then I was sitting there like, “Okay, okay, I get it now”. But I mean, Em is a beautiful rubber man. Because nothing goes over his head, man. He’s a student of the game who studies it like a scientist. Pouring little drops and stuff… He studies it thoroughly. It was a good conversation we had. He is real deep into hip hop.

Then they talk about how the Detroit rapper always pays tribute to legendary artists by wearing shirts with their album covers on them in his concerts. Talib Kweli also asks Big Daddy Kane if he ever saw that video where Eminem pranks LL Cool J by calling him during the Shade 45 interview.

Big Daddy Kane shared a photo with Eminem after filming an interview with him in February. Every Eminem fan is looking forward to this interview. There are no indications of when it will be published. It’s possible, though, that it was part of the “Did I Ever Tell You The One About… Big Daddy Kane” podcast series, which focuses on his career and is recorded by Kane himself as well as people who know him; family, friends, and other musicians he influenced.

In February, Big Daddy and Marshall chop it up in the studio for an interview session, which might be for Kane’s upcoming “Did I Ever Tell You About” Podcast, which is premiering on April 26th.
